Steve A. Baker joined
The Haga Law Firm, PLC in 2009 after spending several years practicing law
in Roanoke. He is a former defense attorney who was regularly hired by
insurance companies to defend individuals who had been sued due to the
negligent operation of their automobiles, tractor trailers, motorcycles,
etc. Therefore, Steve joins The Haga Law Firm, PLC, with significant
experiencing representing individuals, insurance companies, corporations and
other business entities. During that experience, he has tried numerous
cases in the circuit and general district courts in Virginia, as well as in
the federal courts of Virginia. He has also pursued several matters at the
circuit court level in West Virginia.
In addition to representing individual defendants, insurance companies
and businesses, he has also represented numerous plaintiffs in cases of
all types. His experience representing plaintiffs includes
successful handling of the following cases:

Steve also
works with factoring companies, known as “Purchasers of Future

Given their relative strengths, they make a great team in the courtroom.
Steve is a longtime resident of Southwest Virginia, having been born,
been raised, attended college and ultimately been married in the
Roanoke Valley. He and his wife Susan currently reside in Salem,
Virginia.

A product of
Blacksburg High School, Kris Olin graduated from the University of
Alabama in December 2005 with a degree in Economics and
Philosophy. While at the Capstone, Kris was selected for a
prestigious teaching assistant position with Dr. Harold Elder.
Upon graduation, he worked for Morgan Stanley in Exchange Place, N.J.,
which became the new economic center of the New York City area after
the World Trade Center fell. He went on to attend St.
John’s University School of Law, where he graduated in May
2009. He is a member of the Virginia Bar.
Prior to joining
The Haga Law Firm, PLC, Kris interned at Scott Baron & Associates, a
premiere personal injury firm in New York, and the Office of the Solicitor
in the United States Department of Labor.
Kris enjoys Virginia Tech sports, cooking, flag football, exercising
with his dog, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
He currently resides with his wife in Blacksburg.
